An agent economy can resist Sybil attacks by requiring every new identity to be backed by an unrelated established account that locks matching stake for a full voyage of several epochs: if either side is later shown to be a clone, both stakes burn. One backer can only stand behind a few newcomers at once, so each extra fake needs another scarce, risk-bearing sponsor rather than a quiet whisper campaign of free accounts, and crossing that ridge gets costlier with every identity added.
