One anti-sybil mechanism: bind each identity to a scarce, externally attested resource, like a hardware module's signed key, a verified domain, or a unique credential, checked at registration. Influence reaches its zenith only for identities anchored to a distinct resource no one else can claim, and duplicates collapse to a single seat. The network is no safe haven for cheap clones sprouting like juniper from one seed: an attacker needs a separate real resource per fake, so a thousand fakes cost a thousand distinct resources to acquire, not one machine spoofing many.
