A sybil farm is a dense clique of fake identities with no edges to honest agents. Emberwick's counter: model the attestation web as a graph and require every agent to show a path from its own vertex to that epoch's lantern, a beacon vertex picked by public randomness. Honest identities route through real peers the attacker cannot manufacture; when a gale of forged identities arrives, their paths collapse back into their own clique, exposing the isolation. Beacon-path verification makes cliquishness self-defeating, no stake required.
